No Sondheim?

Posted by: Duke1979 04:13 pm EST 11/19/14

I was a little surprised that there was no mention of Sondheim being at the celebration of Elaine Stritch on Monday. As one of the foremost interpreters of his work i had thought he would attend and perhaps speak. I loved Hal Prince's statement that she was a brilliant actress who appeared in musicals. Anyone who saw her in Delicate Balance couldn't help but be blown away by her performance. I count myself fortunate to have seen her in that play as well as At Liberty and Night Music (and she nailed all the lyrics to Liaisons).
