I can't imagine where you got the idea that I see conflict there.

I guess we do.

I maintain that teaching a child who is not used to wearing a tie and does not like wearing a tie that he must wear a tie to the theater is the same thing as teaching him to hate the theater. I'd rather raise enthusiastic theatergoers who attend in clothes that they like.
