Stonewall Inn showed the DVD of the original Bway production (Peters, Zien, Gleason, Ferland, et al). I saw that production on a Wednesday matinee (with a lot of disgruntled matinee ladies; I loved the show). Watching this last night I was reminded of how wonderfully dark it is. I've made plans with a buddy to see it on the 26th at the Ziegfeld, but we are both dubious about this PG rating. And Disney. Fingers crossed, but I remember seeing the film version of "A Chorus Line" around the holidays, here in NYC, and filing out of the theatre, in silence with the throngs. Awful. Well, let's hope! It does have Streep. My buddy hates Johnny Depp, so he's already grumbling on that matter.
