Kudos to Jackman, the Hugh-manitarian

After last night's bows at ''The River,'' Hugh Jackman was willing to give the shirt off his back ... for a great charity: Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. He auctioned off the T-shirt he wore in the show for a top bid of $5,000 and sold another one to the runner-up bidder of $4,000. These winners also were offered a backstage meet-and-greet with the cast, and a chance to take photos. (You also could get the backstage visit itself for $2,000 a pop.) As for ''The River,'' I bought Jackman hook, link and sinker, but it wasn't easy to make heads or tails of the play.
