Other possible contenders?

Father Comes Home From the Wars seems to be a favorite, at least among the chat boards. What else could possibly be in contention? Stephen Adly Guirgus' Between Riverside and Crazy comes to mind, for me at least.

BOOTYCANDY could be a contender, too.

My companion at BOOTYCANDY thought so as well. I disagreed because it's too diffuse, also too many dead spots.

I have a feeling that if the Pulitzer jury recommended Bootycandy, the board would veto it. That title - not enough gravitas!

what about this year's tony nominated shows

ALL THE WAY—Robert Schenkkan
CASA VALENTINA—Harvey Fierstein
MOTHERS & SONS—Terrence McNally

I can't remember if All the Way had a production the year before. Mothers&Sons might not qualify because of the princeton (I think that is where it was) the year beford. Casa Valentina was new.

Mothers and Sons premiered at Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope, PA, in June 2013. Not sure about its eligibility. All the Way is several years old at this point.

Despite its compelling premise, I don't think Casa Valentina merits any award as high as a Pulitzer.
