As I said, I'm finding it more compelling the more I think and read about it.

I guess there are so many factors that initially distance me: characters I cannot identify with (them, their lifestyle, or their problems), the absurd or unreal element, and the language. I think I respond better to family situations I can imagine really taking place.

I'm sure Plimpton hasn't changed. Part is that I don't understand the character's hysteria.

I'm sure others come at it from another place, this is just my take, and I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the play.
