Julliard's Moni Yakim

Mime was extremely popular in the U.S. in the 1960's through 1980's both in the theater and in popular culture. And suddenly there was a backlash and it was sounded and roundly mocked. In Europe, mime and physical theater continued to influence the theater to the point of surpassing Stanislavski based teaching methods, At Julliard, Moni Yakim continued to teach generations of students in what he calls a combination of mime and Stella Adler. Yakim's will direct a production of Zimmerman's METAMORPHOSIS at Julliard in 2015.
