As long as they make it clear what the comment is referring to.

Worse/worst when a production used a comment to an online review and credited it to The NY Times.

I think it is if it's clear that the quote refers to a the text rather than the current production.

A few years ago, when I produced a remount of a show that had been done a year earlier, one of the weekly pubs republished their review of the previous production (which we were happy about since it was a good review).
