And of course, for reasons I've gone into at this board ad nauseum, I agree with Brantley to a point about Edna, far less as a backdoor compliment. I think the focus on Harry and Edna's arrival(s), and the way they are blocked, are actually a cornerstone of McKinnon's staging and interpretation, the degree to which she uses this couple's home invasion to anchor the center of the play and hold a mirror up to the lives of Agnes and Tobias.
