I saw an earlier performance and while the Musicals Tonight! staging is pretty minimal I see this as a function of their budget and not of taste." Well, I'm not going to be that evil and go into it in detail, but ... Did you notice how many Equity actors were in that cast? Quite a lot. And that's the best Equity cast they could come up with in New York (leading lady excepted)? Also, their set design - sliding those panels in and out, that inform us of where we are now. Soooooooooo unneccesary. And tacky. It could all be done with so much more simplicity (if we're talking about budget), in better taste than that. But, then, that's just my humble opinion.
