Wow. That's all you can think of to say? Photos of people visibly upset by the loss of their friend and you criticize what they are wearing?

Generally I find this board to be pretty sensitive and positive compared to other chat boards, but I guess every rule has an exception.

And it wasn't a formal event or a funeral. They were coming to pay their respects to his widow in their home. Does that require one wear a gown or a three-piece suit?

If you had been able to comprehend the article, it stated that they had just attended the funeral at Campbell's prior to going to the Nichols' apartment. If you're attending the funeral of a friend who is a celebrity and you know there are going to be paparazzi present, is it really too much to ask that you wear something other than jeans and athletic shoes and show a little respect for the occasion?

I think that actually, if you're attending the funeral of a friend, and are thus bereaved, etiquette suggests that you do not have to give a damn about whether "there are going to be paparazzi present."

Actually, had YOU been able to comprehend the article, you would have seen that it states there was a small family funeral at Campbells. These people are not family.

I'm sorry, but I'm with Pete. The post was insensitive, myopic and inane. Certainly people are allowed to mourn in their own way without being judged on their wardrobe. Let's be better than that. A great man, a great artist has passed. Let's all show a little respect for him & his colleagues by raising the level of conversation out of the gutter.
