Curious Incident question (Spoiler)

For those who have seen the performance here in NY - at the end of the show, as the young man is celebrating his math score and is proclaiming "I can do anything, right?" his teacher said, "I hope so." At least that is what I heard. My friends with me said the teacher did not say anything at all. Does anyone remember that moment and can tell me what they heard?

I recall only silence from Siobhan at that point, which I thought was a fascinating, unexpected choice.
