I thought that had been announced previously, although for some reason I thought that Tunick had been announced. But I'm probably wrong.

Still, as noted below, this is not the least bit surprising. The surprise would have been if they were using the original orchestrations given that they were probably for 24-26 musicians. There really is not any way to do that in the American Airlines.

And although I know I may be alone (or nearly alone) in this, I don't much like the original orchestrations. I love the show and I love the score, but not the orchestrations. Hershy Kaye hated the score, he hated Cy Coleman and didn't much like Comden and Green, and I think it sounds like it in his orchestrations.

And I do also wonder a bit if he'd already had the stroke that caused his last few orchestration jobs to be increasingly problematic, until at last on Barnum, virtually everything he did was thrown out, although he was still credited.

Anyway, I would welcome new orchestrations for this score, although I'd prefer if they were for a full Broadway group of 25 or 26 players, instead of the 12-15 that they will probably use.

You didn't see that coming? Depressing but entirely predictable.
