Her heart-warming show features Flores’ fresh takes on holiday classics presented with a voice inspired by legends Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn yet also reflective of her influences of Latin rhythms, Brazilian jazz, blues and swing. In Lift Up Your Skirt, Najimy will share some true stories from her upside-down life, as well as perform a new monologue about marriage equality from Aunt Maddie, the beloved character made famous from The Kathy and Mo Show. He was musically trained in London, New York City, and Boston where he combined his jazz and Latin music interests with traditional Ethiopian music. What happens on the stage goes beyond innovation, originality, virtuosity and energy. There is a telepathic chemistry, magic, and an emotional connection between these 3 musicians which is very unique. It is a conversation, a trip, and a world in itself. Jazz has produced lots of great trios, but this one has a place all its own in the history of the piano-bass-drums idiom.
