the Oscars would have taken place on the opening date of THE KING AND I

do you think producers would have changed the schedule to accommodate for her to attend the ceremony on March 29, 1951 ?

I DON'T THINK SO !!

but today producers probably feel it is good publicity and in the best interest of the show to allow their stars time off to shine on the red carpet
