There is definitely a "first time to see" phenomenon on Broadway, and David plays to the right demographic (older audiences who can afford tickets), and is promising exactly what his audience would expect. There is, of course, the risk that it's a badly formed play and that David isn't up to an 8-shows-a-week-schedule. But presales will give him a pass, for now.
