that's just it! the obstacle isn't (or shouldn't be) how they get together it's on what (and whose) terms they get together.

gigi in any version is going to be too 19th century french to ever play to a 21st century american audience. i understand the need to ... adjust. turning GIGI into something about men is more than an adjustment.

but this supports your position. if someone wants to return to the story probably the best way to do that is to start anew. but then you lose the score.

it's a conundrum.
