I don't like the ever-growing expansion of nominees. If Best Director and Choreographer can go to a fifth nominee, why not all of the designers as well, and librettists, composers and lyricists? To me, it diminishes the honor. I also prefer the uniformity of 5 nominees per acting category. (And that was already expanded from 4.) The Tonys should be hard-won for singular and exceptional work, not gold stars you give out to spread the wealth. Meantime, as the Tonys add more nominees, they refuse to reinstate the category of Sound Design. Makes no sense.
