The original four leads in Follies were between the ages of 42 and 51 when they played the roles. They are however supposed to be 30 years separated from their appearance in the Weissman Follies (at least if their sashes are to be believed). None of that is explicit in the original script however so they could conceivably be anywhere from 45 to 65 without violating the ethos of the show.
