Peters, for sure, wore a 1941 sash. Not as sure about Phyliss but, of course, she should have. And, of course, the original script makes the ages clear and in some cases exact. And, (of course number 3), only you and I appear to consider the original script to be definitive and ….exquisite. At least I think that is what you think. Maybe not. It is certainly my thought. As far as a film is concerned, I would prefer an intelligent, thoughtful,stage revival incorporating the original script and the surreal cinematic feel of the original. It does not have to be a museum piece. However, in this case, the content demands the form. I certainly would never green light $50 or so million to make a film but I would work to find $15 or so million to produce a first class revival and then film the production. (Naturally, all concerned would be willing to forfeit the original investment). Not likely to happen.
