Sally and Phyllis are supposed to be right at 50. (Presumably they joined the Follies right out of high school, so they were 17 or 18 and lasted two, maybe three seasons before marrying.) Carlotta is perhaps a couple of years older. Stella is old enough that Sally calls her "Miss Deems," so she was a featured player in the Follies already when Sally and Phyllis joined the show. Say she's around 60. Solange gives her age as 66, so figure 70ish. Hattie's "year" is 1923, so she is at least 70. Heidi was a headliner in Weissman's first show in 1918, so she is probably pushing 80. Some actors who are 50ish in 2015 include Robert Downey Jr., Ben Stiller, Diane Lane, Sarah Jessica Parker, Alan Cumming, Brooke Shields, John C. Reilly, Jeremy Piven, Nicholas Cage, Keanu Reeves, Sandra Bullock, Mary Louise Parker, Rob Lowe, Marisa Tomei, Laura LInney, Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, Lisa Kudrow, Helen Hunt, Vanessa Williams, Julianna Margulies, BIlly Zane, Mary Stuart Masterson. So it's that generation producers should probably be looking at for the Sally/Ben/Phyllis/Buddy axis.
