Perhaps for the few people who saw the Collins-Evans tour. Caulfield would have played a relatively minor role. I saw the play with Collins in Philadelphia with a very small audience. I am not even sure it lasted beyond Philly.

I suspect the reason Cauflield has been cast (and is being imported into Australia) is because he's Juliet Mills' husband, not because he's necessarily obvious casting. ("That Guy From Grease 2" is not exactly a big ticket promotion)
