I'm 5'7" and though front mezz could be more spacious I prefer not having heads blocking my view. So I really like first row front mezz there. St. James does not have great sightlines downstairs the way the seats are set up. I often have a head blocking my view downstairs.

Does the front mezz have a railing, and does it affect the view?

The front row of the front mezz at the St. James is NOT good - and I've sat all around the front row of that mezz.

THE RAIL IS TERRIBLE!

And I'm not so sure the second row is very good for that reason, as well.

I didn't have a problem with the railing when I've sat on the sides and in the center first row, but I don't think I've sat in the first aisle seat on either right side or left side of the first row front mezz. And I'm very sensitive to that (for instance at the Walter Kerr, the railing was a problem sitting on the aisle seat on the right side first row front mezz - but not in the center).

Rear Mezz?

I saw "Gypsy" with Patti Lupone from the front row balcony, so I'd love some help with other areas. Normally, I use the seating suggestions at Entertainment-Link, but there are none for this theater.
This is the last show that I need to book for my daughters and me for Monday, March 30th. It'll barely have begun previews. Should I buy now or wait for a possible discount? The preview prices look pretty good to me. The last two rows of the mezz are only $37 each with several rows in front of them only $57 before they switch to $79, but there are also some $79 orchestra seats that have what look like good views. Thanks for any tips.

Remembered that I saw "Finian's Rainbow" and sat just about where those orchestra seats I mentioned are, so if anyone can comment on the rear mezz/mid mezz seats, that would be great. Thanks!
