I will try to clarify further why I responded as I did to LegitOnce. His point seemed to be that the fact that everyone refers to it as "the mirror number" is an indication that the number was so famous and iconic that people didn't ever refer to it by its actual title. He wrote, "Something about 'Who's That Woman?' suggests to me that it was a "classic" number in the Follies-- that is, it was so popular that it was repeated for at least several seasons in a row. Everyone casually calls it 'The Mirror Number,' which seems to imply that it was something special and out of the ordinary in a show that probably had eight or 10 big chorus numbers." If you respond by saying that you got that, then I have to confess that I am completely mystified by your responses to my posts here. I don't think we're supposed to think that the number was performed any year but 1941.
