Last of the weekend in DC: Choir Boy and Crime & Punishment in America

First, thanks to all of you who raved about Choir Boy in New York. I just missed that run, so stayed over an extra day in DC to see the Studio Theatre production, and it is excellent, anther gem from Tarell McCraney.(Although two groups of women around me spoke up after the show, saying they loved it but have no idea what it was about.) Wonderful cast and staging. I also went back out to Arlington for Crime and Punishment in America, two one-act plays (Cops by Terry Curtis Fox and Hello Out There by William Saroyan) at American Century Theatre. Both are compelling and effective dramas, even in their brief form (I think the Saroyan is about 35 minutes). All very nicely acted and presented by ACT, where lots of people put these things together for the love of theatre. Warning: many gunshots.
