so soon after BRIDGES and HONEYMOON: another new JRB musical (sort-of)

Posted by: ilw 08:37 am EST 01/19/15

Sorry, I couldn't resist writing that somewhat misleading subject line, given the debates here over the merits of the most recent Jason Robert Brown shows.

Here is the real news: beginning July 23rd at Goodspeed's Norma Terris Theatre in Chester, CT, the musical My Paris will premiere. It's a rewritten version of Lautrec, a show about Toulouse-Lautrec that played in London in 2000. It has a score by the French singer/songwriter Charles Aznavour. It has been revamped by the writers of Parade: Alfred Uhry (who wrote the new book), and Jason Robert Brown (who wrote new English lyrics and arrangements). The link below also discusses two other new musicals to be presented this year at the Norma Terris Theatre.
