In my experience, whether or not the box office is willing to exchange a ticket due to a performer being out depends largely on how you acquired the ticket. If the ticket was purchased through TDF or a similar discount service, then no - they will not. I went to see EVITA 3 times - all tix purchased through TDF - before I finally got to see Ricky Martin. Also, Ramin was out for my first visit to Les Miz. Same story. The b.o. wouldn't exchange a TDF ticket. I liked Walpole's voice and thought he sang the role beautifully. However, Ramin has "it" and is worth seeing. His Bring Him Home was very moving. He's also very easy on the eyes.
