1) The lack of melodic invention. For starters, compare the tune of "Betsy's Getting Married" to "Summer in Ohio." For a better 60s score, just substitute Catch Me If You Can.

2) The check-the-box-for-every-offenstive-ism plot, lyrics, and humor. Friki Friki was painful well before the first friki. The dread until JRB delivers the cringeworthy rhyme with "sticky."

3) Rob McClure's energetically repellent performance, Tony Danza's swallowing of every sustained tone, and Brynn O'Malley's undergrad Musical Theater 101 interpretation.

4) The memory of Parade, Bridges, and The Last Five Years. That's why this show was show was painful for me.
