... but could Reba do Mame? I know, yet another in the long list of actresses mentioned for the role. She's the right age, and her fun, laid-back country charm could be the right dichotomy to stuffy society and high-wealth. I've seen her in concert twice, once at the cavernous Cow Palace here in San Francisco with its horrible acoustics. Despite the sound, she gave a fantastic performance. The other time was an intimate casino ballroom. She seemed to prefer the latter as she could more easily engage with the audience.
