After Reba's rapturous reception in the role (and really there's been nothing like it since), CBS announced a TV movie version of the show starring Reba. It would probably have been akin to the TV version of GYPSY with Bette Midler, which was also a CBS project. Alas, nothing ever came of it. I never heard why, but probably any of a hundred different reasons.
