Merely a jolly olde question; was there an audience for both "Robin Hood" and "Something Rotten"

Yes, I know they aren't remotely the same. Yet a retelling of the Robin Hood legend in the same season with another Merry Olde England in its rollicking heyday musical might be one trip to the musty British trunk too many for an ever capricious B'way audience. I realize these shows are not tonally similar in any way. I get it. But let me be really obvious here: both shows are about men in tights.
