I saw Natasha & Pierre on a Fri. evening in Nov., 2013. I thought that the full-price tickets were ridiculously overpriced for off-Broadway so I went to the box office on Fri. morning. The guy told me that rush tickets would be available at 2:00 PM. I was seeing a matinee of a Musicals Tonight show that afternoon so I asked them if I could come back around 5:00 PM. The guy said not to worry and that there would be plenty of rush tickets left. The theater was only half full -- I ended up being seated at a large table which included (of all people) Ali MacGraw and another woman (who I now believe was Barbara Rush). Lucas Steele (Anatole) must have recognized MacGraw because he flirted with her throughout the performance (while keeping in character). MacGraw was pretty amused by the attention.

I liked the staging -- it was definitely an entertaining performance with a good score. Way too special for Broadway though. After it closed, I started a thread asking the ATCers if anyone knew how the show did financially -- no one responded. My gut feeling is that it did not do well, although I really hope I'm wrong.

It was packed when I saw it in January, but I suspect many of us had discounted seats.

But it looked like they did a good trade in food/bev sales, which would have greatly helped.

I really think they should do it at Circle in the Square - it would fit in that space very well.
