I don't, and I try never use that term. I was perhaps trying a bit of irony. I have found the debate about this show -- yes, we've had a bit here, because I've posted twice -- divides people into two camps, those who don't understand its relevance and question the work needed for a revisal, like me, and those who think it's a terrific idea with a young viable star. I have tried to frame my own comments in the context of the challenges of this season ("Side Show" and "Last Ship," and to a certain extent, "...Vegas"). But I haven't seen the show, and I am breaking my own rule in commenting extensively about material I haven't personally appraised. My guesswork on the viability of the show in 2015 is based on knowledge of the film and the prior production. I will herewith cease commenting negatively and wait until the show is with us, and under the inevitable scrutiny the board invites. If the show has this many die-hard fans rooting for it, perhaps I've already been unfair to its chances. Maybe my confusion bordering on exasperation that such effort has gone into this particular piece is a comment on my demographic and its tastes rather than any of the artistic elements assembled to make the show fly. Again, sometimes subjectivity in taste steers posts away from fairness, never more so than when all advance criticism is at best speculative.
