Whoops. I planed to address the immersive quality but forgot. Thanks for the reminder. :) Four sections of bleachers (the first four or five rows on each side) were moving pods that shifted during various scenes. They were used to great effect in early moments when Carrie is bullied by her classmates. The moveable sections, along with he taunting classmates, surround/close in on her so it looks like they are part of the mob teasing her. I hope that makes sense. The cast did interact non-verbally several times with the audience. At one point, someone is also invited to join a dance number at the prom. Margaret White hands out religious pamphlets to various audience members. And there was slight interaction between classmates and audience members but I couldn't hear what they were whispering but it didn't look like anything you probably haven't already seen. No one in the audience was splattered with blood. :)

The bleachers were uncomfortable to sit on for 2+ hours! They provided flimsy seat cushions but they didn't help much after the first 30 minutes. I saw many people shifting around uncomfortably throughout the show (insert tired old joke).

It did become a little more bearable when the second act began because the audience thinned out a little and we weren't so cramped anymore. La Mirada's subscriber base is pretty old and several of the older theatergoers didn't return after intermission.
