MTG's GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES

Posted by: showtunetrivia 10:40 am EDT 04/07/15

Anybody going to Santa Monica's Moss Theatre this Sunday for Musical Theatre Guild's GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES? I can't make it, but I'd appreciate knowing if the sound issues have improved. Their recent stagings of THE GOLDEN APPLE and TRIUMPH OF LOVE were horribly marred--my husband said he could understand maybe one word in three or four at APPLE.

I'll be there in June for ROAD SHOW--the only Sondheim I've never seen on stage--regardless of audio issues. But it would be nice to know they've listened to my (and others') complaints about the sound.

Not sure there's much that can be done about the sound. Everything I've seen there has been hard to hear unless you're dead center. Not just MTG shows. Even concerts.

That's sad to hear. The Alex had its drawbacks, but at least I could understand lyrics.

I miss the Alex (and it was super convenient for me!). I sat upstairs for The Golden Apple and actually didn't have a problem hearing lyrics, but didn't particularly like the seats.

I was upstairs for DEATH TAKES A HOLIDAY. I thought the sound was bad then, though not as dreadful as GA. And, yes, those seats petrified my aging back. Awful.
