Is this a first for this board?

I've followed this board for many seasons now and can't recall a Tony voter ever sharing their votes or engaging in this kind of electioneering. Kudos! I think...

I agree with many of your comments sans the hyperbole. I too went in thinking it would be pretentious, heavy-handed and boring. It wasn't boring.

Honestly, I liked it a lot. It's a gorgeous physical production and the cast is sensational. Seeing Chita's swansong on Broadway will be burned in my memory forever.

I take issue though that THE VISIT is the only nominee that will be remembered 25 years from now. I suspect AN AMERICAN IN PARI, SOMETHING ROTTEN and the un-nominated FINDING NEVERLAND will all become stock staples, and we can expect FUN HOME to be performed with the frequency of shows like FALSETTOS or NEXT TO NORMAL.

I also think it's unfair to imply that FUN HOME isn't an "intelligent and provocative musical." I don't have a horse in this race, and may the best show win, but THE VISIT isn't alone in the intelligent and provocative category.

Most importantly IMO, THE VISIT deserves to run and there is an audience who will appreciate it. For the sake of all involved I want to see this show succeed. We can only hope that it's target audience hasn't already been papered in and will eventually show up at the box office as paying customers.
