Pacific Spindrift Players presents Cole Porter’s Out of the This World Flirtations and trickery, midnight trysts and celestial parties – it’s a saucy farce about Roman Gods and Hollywood movie types on the prowl in 1950s Athens! Pacifica Spindrift Players presents “Out of This World” with a classical score by Cole Porter and an updated book twist by the Bay Area’s own Greg MacKellan. Aurora Theatre Company continues its 23rd season with TALLEY’S FOLLY. In a season dedicated to his memory, the company pays homage to one of the most prolific and revered American playwrights of the 20th century, Lanford Wilson, with “The Talley Trilogy.” The first entry in this series of three interrelated plays is TALLEY’S FOLLY. It’s the Fourth of July, 1944 in Lebanon, Missouri. Matt Friedman, a Jewish accountant from St. Louis, has arrived to plead his love to well-to-do gentile Sally Talley. TALLEY’S FOLLY, about which the New York Post said, “It is perhaps the simplest, the most lyrical play Wilson has written…funny, sweet, touching and marvelously written,” and which The New York Times called “a play to savor and cheer,” premiered on Broadway in 1980 and received a critically acclaimed off Broadway revival in 2013. THE ADDAMS FAMILY Book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice Music and Lyrics by Andrew Lippa Based on Characters Created by Charles Addams. We all have skeletons in our closet, but it takes a kooky family like the Addams to keep a pet squid there! From the writers of the Tony Award-winning musical Jersey Boys, THE ADDAMS FAMILY tells the story of every father’s nightmare…that moment when your devilish little girl grows up and falls in love with a normal man from a respectable family. That’s right, Wednesday Addams has a boyfriend and this magnificently macabre family gets the shock of a lifetime when she brings him and his parents home for dinner. With brilliant new songs that are all-together ooky, the whole Addams family comes together for a riotous night of ghoulish glee, with surprises that are sure to turn the house downside up and leave you snapping up the aisle! As they travel together to Isfahan, “the most beautiful city in the world,” Jazz inspires them to test the limits of freedom, creativity, and experimentation. Isfahan Blues is co-produced with Golden Thread Productions, the first American theatre company focused on the Middle East.
