As has been mentioned, there "coulda' been five best musical nominations. In my, not so humble opinion, there are really only three musicals worthy of the nomination but the nominators had to select four. I think I can make a pretty damn good rationale for why "A Delicate Balance" deserved nominations in one or more categories. The nominees in just about all those categories are also worthy however. Some very good productions of legit plays made it to Broadway this year. Not so with musicals. To be honest, I just returned from a staged reading of "Waiting for Lefty" that surpasses most of what I was subjected to on "Broadway" this year.
