I saw the show yesterday and I cannot imagine it lasting very long. I hope for everyone's sake that it does, but it's not a well-constructed or particularly interesting show outside of its premise and its star. Where's it's wit? It's twists? Surprises? I think there was some very lazy work from Terrence McNally. To entertain the question, yes, Liza would be great for her presence but she can't sing this score 8 times a week--and I don't think I'd want to hear her struggle with it. (Huge fan, BTW, but you've got to be realistic.)
