  • Of the new musicals:

    — An American in Paris, Finding Neverland and The King and I are looking like the season’s three big hits.

    — The Visit is a disaster, grossing just $194,145 last week.

    — Something Rotten! is slowly gaining ground. Box office receipts were up $84,440 last week for a weekly gross of $801,033.

    — Doctor Zhivago and Gigi box office results have all the markings of shows that won’t survive.

  • Living on Love closed at the Longacre Theatre on Sunday after only 21 previews and 16 performances. Its cumulative grosses added up to a paltry $811,148, just 20% of potential. The average ticket was $30 (accounting for many comps).

  • The Heidi Chronicles closed at the Music Box on Sunday after never gaining traction as it played to half-empty houses over 27 previews and 53 performances. The $3.5 to $4 million production lost its capitalization. Cumulative grosses:$3,257,022, about 37% of potential. Average ticket price: $65.
