I don't disagree with you as a general principle (though I'm not at all sure why you should be "proud" of the producers of 'Lining on Love.")

But what do you say to a situation like "Gentleman's Guide" that coasted through a lengthy period of money-losing weeks, then won the Tony Award, gained momentum, and recouped the investment?
