I think you misunderstand my point. I was responding to the theory that:

"Ms. Streisand...probably doesn’t want the attention since she already knows she is a major, beloved star."

What I'm saying is that I'm sure there are many times when Streisand, or frankly ANYONE who is constantly in the public eye, wishes that people would just leave them alone. It has nothing to do with "already know(ing) she is a major, beloved star" - quite the contrary, I'm sure that there are many times when she wishes no one knew who she was, so she could just function as a normal human being.
