Someone who probably hasn't been mentioned yet is Evelyn Lear, who played the lead in Marc Blitzstein's Reuben Reuben which infamously closed out of town. I read somewhere (a Blitzstein bio, maybe?) that said if the show had made it to Broadway, it's possible that Lear would've gone on to be a Broadway star instead of an opera star.
