Did Bolin actually play Regina somewhere? I think she has said that Blitzstein wrote it for her but she was not any sort of name at the time (she never really was), and it went to Jane Pickens, much less of a singer. And some of it was altered for Pickens, a soprano, which has led to the alternate versions for soprano and mezzo.

Didn't know about Falk. Did Rall do any opera besides the tenor version of Le Jongleur de Notre-Dame?

It's funny that Kobart and Wilson both played Miss Hannigan on Broadway. Two very different voice types in opera. And you wouldn't think that Miss Hannigan was a role for former opera singers.
