Time for Astaire Awards to step it up

There should be separate categories for lead dancer-actors and featured soloists or ensemble members. (For the latter, I'm reminded of the scene-stealing Luke Spring in ''A Christmas Story,'' but he didn't even rate a nomination.)

As for ''celebrity pandering,'' I'm still ticked off that Hugh Jackman (''The Boy From Oz'') won over Noah Racey (''Never Gonna Dance''). Racey could dance rings around Jackman, but how ironic that Racey would lose the Astaire Award for a role that Astaire created.
