Darren Criss: Following the original ''Hedwig'' is heady company

Posted by: WaymanWong 01:20 pm EDT 05/06/15

In his new interview with Out magazine, Darren Criss says that succeeding John Cameron Mitchell, the creator of ''Hedwig and the Angry Inch,'' on Broadway is like ''Shakespeare handing me 'Hamlet.'''

In return, Mitchell loves the fact that Criss is a musician and comes from San Francisco: “He grew up in the gayest city in the world, and it’s rubbed off. He’s the sweetest, hippest straight queer boy on the block.”
