...but if Sarah Jessica Parker's Once Upon a Mattress performance on the Tony Awards was representative of how she sounded every night, and having seen Christina Applegate whisper sing in Sweet Charity, the idea of Renee headlining a musical isn't so off the wall.

In other words, if the precedent has been set for lousy casting, it's perfectly fine to keep doing it just because it's been done before?
