I don't know. She also did some gutsy if more folk-rock singing in a movie called My Own Love Song. Singing one song on the Oscars with the whole world watching can actually be more intimidating than singing songs you have rehearsed in the context of a show in which you are performing. Plus, she was a huge star at the time of Chicago. She isn't working nearly as much any more and she might not be able to afford to have stage fright. I loved her as Roxie. I thought she was the best performer in the film, even if her co-star won an Oscar and she didn't. I would love to see her on Broadway, whether she's in a musical or a play.
