The first half of "Life Is" is cut. Any sort of framing device is left to the audience to infer. The show begins with the chorus dancing silently onstage, Mazzie comes out and starts singing "Life is what you do/while you're waiting to die." I don't know that you need the original Prince Bouzouki circle, but if you're not going to do that, at least have some concept, some point of view on the material. From what I saw last night, Walter Bobbie has none.
