Brunch near City Center--recommendations

Posted by: AC126748 01:02 pm EDT 05/07/15

Looking for a place to have Sunday brunch within close walking distance of City Center. Price isn't a concern, though nothing ridiculously expensive. All suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance.

Benoit (classic brunch) and Bistro Milano (Italian, though they sometimes offer brunch), both on 55th Street just east of Sixth Avenue. Also Trattoria Dell'Arte on Seventh & 56th, across from Carnegie Hall

Trattoria Dell'Arte is one of our absolute favorites. I'm always reluctant to recommend it because people always love it and it makes it harder to get a reservation!

You're in the same situation as I find myself. Two days ago I spent 45 minutes trying to make a reservation at numerous places near City Center. Knowing Sunday is Mother's Day compounded my difficulty. I was grasping at straws to find any place that would a take a reservation around noon or 12:30, and I was having no luck. Fortunately I tried La Bonne Soup, and they were able to take my group of four at noon. So I'm happy to see another respondent suggested that restaurant, as I've never been.
